Summer Camps 2017

Camp Jr. Robot Inventor

This camp is an introduction into the world of robotics. Campers will learn about the six simple machines and how they are incorporated into more complex machines. Campers will also learn about circuits and power sources as they build our “Mars-like” RC Rover. The radio-controlled RC Rover is capable of performing 23 experiments and activities. Campers will also have fun constructing our Aluminum Can Robot.

Sample Projects:
Creating Electric Circuits! Building a remote controlled vehicle, building simple machines with Knex, and constructing a robot made out of aluminum can.

In addition: Campers will work in the areas of observation, experimentation and trial and error as they build, race, and experiment with their robots.

Camp Jr. Video Game Maker

Click and drag video game creation for campers. Unleash your child's imagination! Campers can create their ideal video games with just a click of a mouse. Campers design several uniquely playable games without needing any programming knowledge or artistic skills.

Campers will learn how law enforcement professional solve crimes and meet real professional Crime Scene Investigators, K-9 Handlers and Forensic Pathologists. You'll use the tools used in the field to collect evidence. Campers will learn how a crime is actually solved and learn how Biology, Chemistry and Physics plays a major role in the investigation!

Sample Projects:
Blood Analysis; Fiber, Handwriting, Fingerprinting, and DNA Analysis!

Camp Emergency Vet:

Camp Emergency Vet is designed for campers ages 9-13. Activities and experiments explore science topics of interest to budding veterinarians such as anatomy, physiology, and animal care. During each activity scientific concepts are constantly reinforced.

Camp Jr. Physician:

Make NO bones about it; this camp is for the aspiring "Young Physician". Campers will learn that their bodies are miles of blood vessels, hundreds of muscles, many thousands of hairs, a furnace, a filter, AND a fancy computer! Your Young Physician will really have a pulse on the human body with this camp!

Sample Projects:
Building a Lung Model! Testing for Germs! Build a Spinal Column! Skin Prints!

NOTE: Campers must attend our standard CSI camp before this camp.
Campers will become advanced forensic scientists for the week! Campers will analyze and gather evidence for a number of fictitious crime scenes, use luminal and UV light to detect the presence of blood, complete a blood splatter analysis, take crime scene photographs, complete a drug and poison analysis and much more!

Sample Projects:
Blood Analysis; Fiber, Handwriting, Fingerprinting, and DNA Analysis!
